“AU A” is the name traditionally used at tournaments by the Debate Society’s top two-person team. The practice mirrors that of other schools, most notably “MIT A”, and is meant to show appreciation for the skills of the top debating team. AU A is an unofficial name, and is usually assigned by the President of the Debate Society.
